Summer solstice in Reach the Sky Partner schools

On 21st June 2016 Erasmus Teams carried out observations of the Sun. We determined local meridian, measured the height of the Sun over the horizon. We marked the moment of the solar noon and measured the time with sundials. On the school playground we made a model of the Solar System in the scale. We observed the face of the Sun using Newtonian mirror telescope with Baader solar film. We counted spots on the Sun, calculating Wolf’s number- determining the activity of our star.
